Can Your Maintenance Guy Do Home Deodorization?

Sometimes when folks hear about our deodorization service, which uses pure and potent Photonic Oxygen, they may think, “Oh, the maintenance guy can do that.” Maybe they have even tried something similar with some success.

Respiratory Hazard

A caretaker may have a household air purifier that can freshen up a room, but not an industrial strength machine like we use. Household machines are just not potent enough to treat walls and floors in one room, let alone an entire home.

This is probably a good thing, too, because full-powered industrial generators are  hazardous. The potent disinfectant ozone gas requires proper protective gear and techniques to use safely. It is not for the handyman. In fact, even machines far less potent than ours cannot legally be sold as room air purifiers.

This is why we post warning placards outside a residence while treating, and then ensure that the gas is completely dissipated  when we leave.

Not up to the task

A room air purifier just cannot be effective at odor removal. Even if odors lessen, they come back. Count in lost time and further expense of dealing with the odor, and you don’t really save anything.

Cheryl Coburn, Property Manager with Home Pointe, says, "I thought you did a wonderful job of eliminating the smoke smell. This is the first time I've used this kind of service and I have to admit I had my doubts it would work."

Real Estate broker and leasing agent Laura Mickulecky has twenty-five years of experience. One of her duplexes was vacant, but the “nonsmoking” tenant had smoked so heavy for seven years that the ceiling was dark nicotine yellow. It smelled like an ashtray.

Laura and husband Ed were skeptical that we could help, but they could not believe the results. Ed is a former smoker who quit through aversion therapy, and cannot bear the smell. He said that  the result was as pure as could be. His nonsmoking son visited the unit for the first time and said, “What’s the fuss? There’s no smoke odor here.”
Ed says we did “a hell of a job,”  and "saved us a bunch."
